This substantial investment underscores the company's resolute commitment to perpetually enhancing and modernizing the port facilities, positioning itself as the premier maritime hub in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

As per the official statement from the company, this latest infusion of resources is part and parcel of DP World Limassol's unwavering dedication to elevating and contemporizing the port's infrastructure. By doing so, the company aims to solidify its stature as the preferred maritime gateway in the broader Eastern Mediterranean expanse.

The recently procured assets encompass a pair of advanced hoists, a trio of Internal Transfer Vehicles (ITVs), and two versatile general loaders. This formidable arsenal is anticipated to significantly expedite loading and unloading operations, thereby imparting a substantial boost to terminal efficiency. Moreover, these additions are poised to truncate overall vessel service times, fostering an elevated standard of operational performance.

Concurrently, these state-of-the-art acquisitions serve to augment the company's steadfast commitment to multifaceted support across industries. Notably, they bolster the servicing of Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) ships and further bolster the energy sector. The port terminal functions as a pivotal logistical nexus for enterprises engaged in activities within the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

The managing entity of this multifunctional cargo terminal underscores that, over its six-year tenure at Limassol port, it has channeled investments exceeding €8.7 million into equipment, infrastructural enhancements, and pioneering technologies. This infusion has seamlessly ushered in amplified efficacy and competitiveness for the terminal.

"In conjunction with the procurement of new machinery, encompassing cranes and assorted apparatus, the company has embarked on sizable investments targeting the digitization and automation of terminal operations," the spokesperson stated. Notably, in 2021, a new Terminal Software System (TOS) was seamlessly integrated, facilitating the migration of terminal activities to the cloud.

This transformative step has empowered the majority of ships to dock directly, curtailing carrier service times to an average of a mere 13 minutes.
