The Managing Director of the Cypriot Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus – CIPA), Mr. Marios Tannousis, has emphasized the pivotal role of Cypriot expatriates in championing Cyprus on the global stage. Speaking at the Global Conference of the Cypriot Diaspora, Tannousis highlighted the importance of the diaspora, particularly in countries boasting Cypriot investments.

CIPA, a government entity, serves as a guiding light for foreign investors considering Cyprus. Its mandate includes showcasing Cyprus as a prime destination for foreign investment, assuring investors about the vibrant business environment in the country, and offering support as they craft their investment strategies.

Mr. Tannousis revealed that CIPA has embarked on strategic initiatives to deepen its ties with key nations, namely the USA, Britain, Australia, and South Africa. Major events to further this agenda are in the pipeline for cities like London and New York.

Reassuring potential investors, Tannousis stated, "Consider CIPA as your go-to house for foreign investment; we're here to address all your concerns and queries."

On the agenda for the agency is enhancing the current investment framework to magnetize further investments. CIPA is committed to positioning Cyprus as an attractive destination for foreign investment across diverse sectors. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Cyprus has been proactive, updating its systems and leveraging virtual platforms like webinars to lure capital.

Tannousis outlined the agency's vision, aiming to put Cyprus on the world map as a top-tier International Business Center, with a pronounced emphasis on Technology. The agency also eyes investments in sectors including tourism, health, education, and renewable energy.

Long-term aspirations for CIPA and Cyprus at large revolve around establishing the nation as an ideal place for living, working, and doing business. Tannousis added, "Our mission is clear: to position Cyprus as a global exemplar, thriving economically and upholding the values of a just society."
