European stock markets are moving with a mild rise today, Monday, at the start of trading following a week of very strong performances, with investors turning their gaze toward developments at the corporate level.

The pan-European STOXX 600 index strengthens by 0.09% to 653.39 points, after recording its best weekly performance since mid-May on Friday. The German DAX notes gains of 0.08% at 25,802.42 points, the British FTSE 100 moves upward by 0.29% at 10,709.63 points, and the French CAC 40 by 0.39% at 8,541.12 points. On the periphery, the Italian FTSE MIB gains 0.38% at 53,024.499 points, and the Spanish IBEX 35 moves lower by 0.37% at 19,778.4 points.

The stock of EasyJet recorded an 11% jump after the British low-cost airline agreed in principle to an improved takeover offer from the American investment firm Castlelake, valuing the air carrier at up to £5.5 billion ($7.34 billion).
