Thanos Michaelides, until today the President of PASYXE (Cyprus Hotel Association), announced from the podium of the Association's Annual General Meeting his departure from the presidency of the Board of Directors.

Prior to the proceedings of the General Meeting, Yiannis Pantazis of the Leptos Hotels Group was elected as the new President of the Board of Directors of PASYXE.

What Thanos Michaelides Stated

He served in the position of PASYXE President for three consecutive years.

He will remain a standard member of the Hotel Association's administration.

With deep emotion and before concluding his speech, he stated:

"Today is a very special day for me on a personal level, as I hand over the baton in the leadership of PASYXE after three years. I depart from the position of President with a clear conscience," noted Mr. Michaelides.

He added that throughout this journey, he always had honesty, cooperation, and the interests of PASYXE members and the tourism industry as his guide.

"I am stepping down from the presidency of PASYXE, but not from the collective effort to support and strengthen tourism. Tourism," he noted, "remains a large part of my life, and I will continue to support every effort that contributes to its progress."

"Allow me, at this point, to thank the Board of Directors, the Director General, Dr. Christos Angelides, and the Secretariat of the Association, as well as all the members of PASYXE and the people of the tourism industry, who with dedication and professionalism maintain Cyprus' high image," he said.

"Despite the difficulties and challenges, I am optimistic about the future of Cypriot tourism. Because we have experience, we have people with knowledge, vision, and, above all, we have the will to evolve and to continue building a tourism industry worthy of the capabilities and the potential of our country," the outgoing President of PASYXE emphasized.
