The third quarter of 2023 witnessed a 6.2% increase in the average gross monthly earnings of employees, rising to €2,224 from €2,094 in the same period of 2022. This data, released by the Statistical Service on Wednesday, provides a preliminary insight into the earnings trend.

When adjusted for seasonal fluctuations, the average gross earnings for the third quarter of 2023 stand at €2,371, marking a 1.4% rise from the second quarter of the same year.

The Statistical Service's report further breaks down the data by gender. In the third quarter of 2023, the average gross monthly earnings for men are estimated at €2,390, while for women, the figure is €2,015. This represents an increase of 6.1% for men and 6.2% for women compared to the third quarter of 2022.
