Cyprus Stock Exchange Reaches 12-Year High, Gains 1.63%

Market Closes at 162.96 Points, Marking Highest Level Since May 2012

The Cyprus Stock Exchange reached its highest level in exactly 12 years on Wednesday, continuing its upward trend that began at the start of May. Over this period, the market accumulated significant gains of 12.6%. On Wednesday, the market saw a substantial increase of 1.63%, closing at 162.96 points, the highest level since May 22, 2012.

The FTSE/CySE 20 Index also rose by 1.64%, closing at 99.07 points. The daily trading volume remained above one million euros, amounting to €1,294,929.

All stock market indices closed with gains. The Hotels sector saw the largest increase at 2.76%, the Main Market strengthened by 1.72%, the Alternative Market increased by 0.78%, and the Investment sector rose by 0.38%.

The stocks that attracted the most investment interest included Bank of Cyprus with €882,580 (closing price €4.57, up 2.47%), Hellenic Bank with €234,411 (closing price €2.57, up 2.8%), Petrolina with €49,205 (closing price €0.795, down 0.63%), Demetra Investment with €42,182 (closing price €0.984, up 0.41%), and Vassiliko Cement Works with €31,456 (closing price €3.86, up 1.05%).

Of the stocks traded, nine moved up, four fell, and two remained unchanged. The number of transactions reached 294.
