In August, Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (RIK) announced its return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in seven years. Additionally, the Cypriot broadcaster revealed that 11-year-old Maria Pissarides will represent the island in the upcoming 22nd edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Madrid, Spain.

Just recently, during the morning show "Omorfi Mera" on RIK, the official Cypriot entry, titled "Crystal Waters," was unveiled.
