The Doors of Old Nicosia on the Red Carpet
Sabrina Culver Wears Michalis Pantelidis’ “Blue Door” Dress at the Red Sea Film Festival
Award-winning actress Sabrina Culver captivated audiences at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2025, wearing the “Blue Door” dress, a striking sustainable couture piece created by Cypriot designer and visual artist Michalis Pantelidis.
Crafted entirely from 100% recycled plastic bottles, the dress results from an innovative textile transformation process that highlights Pantelidis’ commitment to responsible, forward-thinking design. The artwork features a digital collage of historic doors from the Old Town of Nicosia, symbolising stories of resilience, memory, and the timeless character of the city’s architectural heritage.
The “Blue Door” dress brings together sustainability, cultural preservation, and contemporary fashion, offering a powerful visual narrative that bridges Cyprus’ past with its modern creative spirit. Culver’s choice to wear the piece on an international red carpet amplifies the global relevance of eco-conscious design and reinforces the value of storytelling through fashion.
Pantelidis continues to establish himself as a distinctive creative voice, merging art, heritage, and environmental innovation in ways that resonate both locally and internationally.
Pantelidis’ creations can be discovered throughout December at his seasonal Christmas Pop-Up, located at Perikleous 1, Nicosia 1010. Opening hours: Fridays 16:00–20:00 and weekends 11:00–19:00.
