Exness Preserves Cyprus’ Natural Beauty with Firefighting Initiatives

Rural areas in Cyprus have been increasingly threatened by devastating wildfires, posing a significant risk to the nation's natural landscapes. Following the devastating fires of 2021 in Limassol and Larnaca, Exness, the leading multi-asset broker, pledged €300,000 towards enhancing the Department of Forests’ capability against future fires. The company’s commitment to the Department went above and beyond, with the final donation amount ultimately doubling, resulting in a three-fold plan to contribute to the efforts against this problem significantly.

Exness’ response to the threat began with a donation of three state-of-the-art firetrucks along with a pick-up truck equipped with a water pump, empowering firefighters and the devastated communities with the tools to respond swiftly to future threats. Furthermore, to restore the ecosystems damaged by the wildfires, Exness organized a tree-planting initiative, adding 400 trees to the affected landscape.

Recognizing the critical need for proactive initiatives, Exness also partnered with the Cyprus Institute of Technology to develop 3 innovative unmanned drones that can detect fires and alert the Department of Forest at a very early stage. To help build capacity in the Department of Forests for using these drones, Exness covers the costs of three drone operators for two years. This innovative approach to forest fire detection has the potential to revolutionize wildfire prevention. Notably, these contributions to the cause have garnered well-deserved recognition, with Exness receiving two Responsible Business Awards.

Martin Thorvaldsson, Exness Head of Community, stated, “Through our ongoing contributions, we’ve made remarkable progress. The firetrucks and innovative fire-detecting drones equip the Department of Forests in Cyprus with the capability and technology to address this issue to its core. We remain committed to contributing whatever future needs may arise and continue fighting for a safer, cleaner, and greener Cyprus.”

Exness, the world’s largest multi-asset broker, attributes its success to leveraging technology to offer its clients an ethical and frictionless trading experience. Beyond its business achievements, Exness has a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility vision, showcasing its dedication to creating a positive impact within the communities it operates.
