Two Cyprus-Based Companies Sanctioned by the US Over Russian Links

The firms are part of over 400 entities targeted for supporting Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Two companies based in Cyprus have been included in the latest round of sanctions imposed by the United States on entities supporting Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

In a post on the social media platform X, US Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, stated: “The United States has imposed sanctions on more than 400 entities across 16 countries connected to Russia’s energy sector for supporting Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine. The latest round includes two companies based in Cyprus.”

She further emphasized the collaboration between the United States and Cyprus in supporting Ukraine.

Companies Identified in the Sanctions

According to a statement from the US Department of the Treasury, the two sanctioned companies are:

  • Kru Overseas Limited, a subsidiary of the Russian company Kuzbassrazrezugol, based in Cyprus.

  • Lagosmarine Ltd., another Cyprus-based firm identified in the sanctions list.
