A Captivating Theatrical Experience for All Ages at Markideio Municipal Theatre
For the first time, the beloved production STILL! - A Statue That Traveled the World comes to the Markideio Municipal Theatre in Paphos on February 2, 2025, at 17:00.
Organized by the Enavsma Foundation, the Petrideio Foundation, and Technopolis 20, this multi-award-winning show has toured countries such as Lithuania, Armenia, Tunisia, North Macedonia, and China. Now, it arrives in Paphos for a single unforgettable performance.
STILL! is a performance for children of all ages, open to people from every nationality. Language is no barrier, as the show is performed in a unique, universal language invented specifically for the production by Stavros Stavrou. With music as its main vehicle, the play is a tribute to friendship, peace, acceptance of diversity, and the power of true love.
The story follows a young girl fleeing the horrors of war. Setting out on a journey into the unknown, she finds refuge in a foreign land, where she rests on a bench under a soldier statue. Soon, a startling revelation changes everything—the statue is alive! Can a statue and a girl form an unbreakable bond and travel the world together? Can the girl teach the statue how to truly live and persuade it to let go of its sword forever?
Director Kostas Silvestros and choreographer Panagiotis Tofi bring this moving story by lyricist Stavros Stavrou to life. With original music by acclaimed Greek pianist and composer Thodoris Economou, the production combines a mesmerizing blend of music, imagery, and color to create an unforgettable theatrical experience.
