Cyprus Strengthens Space Economy with New Skytrek–Eratosthenes MoU
New agreement fosters collaboration in space entrepreneurship, innovation, and vocational training across the EMMENA region
The Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence at the Cyprus University of Technology and Skytrek Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in the fields of space entrepreneurship, business innovation, and vocational training.
According to an official announcement by the Centre, the agreement lays the foundation for the joint development and implementation of initiatives that support the emerging space economy in Cyprus, as well as in the broader Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa region (EMMENA).
The MoU outlines collaboration in several key areas, including professional training programmes in the space sector, mentoring activities, workshops and competitions, investor outreach efforts, and strategic advisory support.
The memorandum was signed by Professor Diofantos Hadjimitsis, CEO of the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence, and Don Koulaouzos, Managing Director of Skytrek Ltd. The agreement marks the beginning of a partnership that bridges research excellence with innovation driven by market needs.
The agreement will be valid for five years, with the option for renewal, and will be implemented through co-funded initiatives and strategic collaboration, the announcement concludes.
