Smart Nicosia Project Launches New Website

The Smart Nicosia Project Is Implemented Under the Cohesion Policy Program “Thaleia 2021-2027” With Co-financing From the EU

The Municipality of Nicosia has announced that the new website for the Smart Nicosia Project is now available at smartnicosia.eu.

“In a functional, user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and accessible site, important information about the project that improves the daily lives of hundreds of thousands of citizens and visitors to Nicosia, as well as pioneering applications, is available,” the Municipality states.

Visitors to the site will find information about transforming today's Nicosia into a Smart City through the creation of fundamental infrastructures such as the Optical Fiber Network, Wireless Wi-Fi Network, and Wireless Device Interconnection Network (Internet of Things).

Additionally, the site provides details on sustainable mobility, a primary goal of the Smart Nicosia Project, with initiatives aimed at reducing traffic congestion and emissions, and enhancing accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

Users will also find information on Smart Street Lighting in Nicosia, real-time monitoring of waste bins, environmental monitoring stations, interactive public information points, and much more.

Furthermore, essential tools for citizens, such as the Smart Parking App, Smart Waste, Air Quality, AμEA Βle Tag, and others, which make life in the city easier and more environmentally friendly, are available for download.

The website is accessible to individuals with disabilities, adhering to international accessibility standards. All necessary technical and design adaptations have been integrated to ensure equal access to information and services for all users.
