Art for Social Action Grants Announced to Promote Positive Change in Cyprus

Selected Projects Aim to Leverage Art for Community Development and Social Awareness

Art for Social Action announced the individuals and organizations selected for the "Art for Social Action" grant program, noting that the chosen projects stood out for their commitment to harnessing the power of art to promote positive social change and inspire communities across the island.

The "Art for Social Action" grant program is implemented by the NGOs Visual Voices, Civil Society Initiative, and the Management Center of the Mediterranean as part of the "Building Community – Art for Social Action" program. This initiative is made possible by funding from the European Union under the Economic Support Program for the Turkish Cypriot Community.

As explained, the grant program uses art as a tool for social change and community development. It involves artists and activists collaborating with civil society and local communities to address environmental and social issues, promote dialogue, and foster positive changes.

The program began in March 2023 and will continue until March 2025, with additional activities planned.

The selected projects received a total of €40,000 in financial support to achieve their mission of promoting meaningful interventions for community cohesion, empowerment, and social awareness.
