Social Waste Returns to Cyprus with Kostantis Pistiolis for a Unique Summer Performance

The band blends hip-hop with Mediterranean folk traditions in a live show at Lymbia’s Community Park Theater on 20 June 2025.

Social Waste returns to Cyprus, this time joined by the beloved multi-instrumentalist Kostantis Pistiolis, for a performance at the open-air theater of Lymbia’s Community Park on 20 June 2025.

The band embarks on a summer tour packed with traditional instruments—bagpipes, lutes, bouzoukis, ancient and Pontic lyres—all fused into their unique sound.

With pounding drums, Pontic lyre, bagpipes, lute, bass, and three relentless rap vocals dominating the stage, Social Waste delivers a performance that is anything but ordinary—either for the local or European music scene. Their lyrics and music reflect a distinct Mediterranean identity, yet one that also speaks globally. It is precisely this fusion that defines the uniqueness of Social Waste and their "Mediterranean hip-hop" sound.

Joining them on stage is the one-of-a-kind Kostantis Pistiolis, the 35-year-old multi-instrumentalist from Epirus, known for his explosive presence and performances with bands and artists such as VIC (Villagers of Ioannina City), Thanasis Papakonstantinou, Giannis Haroulis, and many others. Pistiolis will also present his first solo project during the show.
